My tiniest baby turned 1!

Obviously, I did a lot of pink along with a touch of a flamingo theme.  Pink solo cups for our keg of beer in a pink bucket!  Pink flamingo’s in the yard as well as a giant flamingo balloon attached to Emory’s highchair.  My aunt brought over pink dahlia’s from her garden for a few arrangements and we coated as much as we could in pink party table cloths from Target and Party City.  I made a round tiny white cake, so the cake mess would be white instead of brown chocolate, and coated it in pink sprinkles.

Photo’s above done by the amazing Lance Mercer

I also cut the letters of her name out of card board, painted them in glue and covered them in white glitter as you can see below.  So easy and fun!

DIY Wreath

I have decided that I want to get good at wreath making!

Here is my Christmas wreath for our front door.

My mom picked me up a blank foam wreath from Michaels, as you can see in the first couple pictures above.  Then I just picked up several tubes of balls in different sizes from the Target $1 section and then hot glued the balls to the wreath.  I took off the tops of the balls where the hook attaches, put glue on the top of the ball tits and shuved them into the foam wreath.  Works like a charm!  Hubs got me a bling bling wreath hook for the door too!

I LOVE Christmas!

Easter!

5 May

Well, here I am out of the depths of two sicknesses while pregnant!  I wish that horrible stomach bug upon no one!  Not even my worst enemy!  Wooosh, that was insane!  And my hubs got it too.  Ok, I am done!

Easter is my 2nd favorite holiday next to Christmas!  I love decorating eggs, getting my son a cute new outfit, hiding eggs, Easter bunny pics, etc.!  I love all things Easter!  Here are some of my paper mache’ eggs that I decorated with my mom and her bff.  One before pic and one after.  We painted a couple coats on each egg and then glued various gems, bling and sticker strips to them.  Some we left plain as well.

Happy late Easter! XO

Fabric Covered Cork Board

7 Jan

I covered a cork board in some fabric for my mom for Christmas.  I used furniture nails to nail down the fabric and give it the upholstery nail look.  After I was done with the nails, I hot glued the fabric to the back of the board.  I think it turned out great and my mom loves it!  Such a quick cute gift idea!

Pumpkins

Pumpkin Seeds

Well, I did it!  I tried out the infamous pumpkin drilling!  My son, husband and I cleaned out the pumpkins and then my husband got out his drill and we drilled random designs into our pumpkins!  It was fun and fast!  Then hubs roasted the pumpkin seeds and we drank a beer and snacked on them. mmmmmmm  I believe this pumpkin drilling business will be added to our annual pumpkin carving.  Its so fun and you don’t have to worry about cutting off your finger with a knife.

Pictures of our pumpkins lite up will be added soon!

Aren’t these skeletons amazing?!  I wish that I could take credit for them, however, my mom is the creator!  She made these out of old milk jugs!  My little skeleton family!  My husband, son and I!  So cute!  Notice all of the detail…. painted nails, earrings, a tie, a Halloween sack, etc.  She did an amazing job and we love them!  Thanks Mom!  We love you!

Cookie Sheet Magnet Board

Fridge

Cookie Sheet magnet board

Like many of you, our fridge is one of those that is not magnetic on the front and the sides are covered by built in cabinets.  Its a nice fridge, though, I am very sad that we can’t plaster a million kid art pieces, magnets, etc. on it.  So my mom and I created a magnet board for my son out of a cookie sheet and contact paper.  We chose the contact paper that matches the wood on the side of our cabinet, stuck it to the cookie sheet and boom!  We stuck it on the cabinet using adhesive squares so that we can move it as he grows.  It works like a charm and my son loves it!  Happy crafting!

Paint Your Garden Rocks!

7 Nov

Painted on some rocks and threw them in a planter next to my fall/winter cabbage!  Super fun to think of random words you can paint on the rocks.  I think I may add a few racy words on the next batch for my rose garden.

My Decorated Pumpkin 2012

30 Sep

This year I decided to do something a little different as far as pumpkin decorating. Rather than carve a pumpkin, I decorated the outside with gems and beads. This was definitely the less messy route! I used Household Hogar Goop glue so that I can just roll off any access around the edges or on the gems. If I would have used super glue, it would have dulled the embellishments.
